Still Flowing

10/20/2011

Temp dropped to -2 last night, frost all over the car. But the bio is still flowing without Wintron (at the moment). Most of the feedstock is rapeseed so the CPP is quiet good. That's what the Germans make their bio from and call it RME (Rapeseed Methyl Ester). Better start adding the winteriser soon.

Wintron Synergy and 2-EHN

Wintron Synergy is a cold pour point suppressor, need to add that during the colder months. Bought 3 litres which is enough to treat almost 1500 litres. 2-EHN is a fuel cetane enhancer which increases power. You bozo! Those boards don't work on water unless you've got poweeer!

Back to water washing, sigh.

Started washing the bio again, so tedious. The reason is to prevent the bio from forming hard crystals when the temp drops. That means its going to take me a week to finish a batch when in the summer it takes a 48h. Energy consumption also increases. THANKS cooperative Energy for putting my tariff up just before winter :-<

I've been getting a "check engine light" for the past 6 months. VAG scanner says it a faulty fuel temp sensor so I put the multimeter across the terminals: no resistance. Picked up a replacement from VW today and I'm fitting it tomorrow.
